Student spaces
Student spaces have transformed into collaborative, innovative, tech-enhanced workspaces.
IU's Student Technology Centers (STCs) include classrooms, individual study areas, and collaboration spaces for group work. All have WiFi and power for your own devices, along with wireless mobile device sharing and access to software, printing, and multimedia services. Consultants are also available to assist with questions.
Virtual reality and media design are opening new frontiers.
In collaboration with the IU Media School and the School of Fine Arts, we're customizing spaces for virtual reality experiences, media design, and game development. IU Bloomington students can also explore these technologies on the fourth floor of the Wells Library.
Our experimentation doesn't stop there. We are incorporating virtual reality experiences for students within a general classroom we've transformed into our Reality Lab (Kirkwood Hall 016)—and we have our sights set on locations at IUPUI too.
Idea Garden - IU's Thinker Space
The Idea Garden is a place for students to be creative, to explore, to collaborate.
It's a Thinker Space, fully equipped to give students an organic experience with emerging technologies.
It's where you connect with the community, learn from local tech leaders, and gain exposure to innovative ideas.
The Idea Garden serves as fertile ground for student vision, cultivates thought and provides for growth, and produces entrepreneurial thinkers.
